Outstandingly trained and internationally active technicians are of elementary importance for the technical leading position of the domestic economy. Numerous surveys prove a substantial and continuous need for engineers, in particular with an emphasis on mechatronics and mechanical engineering. Mechatronics unites the traditional disciplines mechanics, electronics and computer science. These fields co-operate in computer controlled plants and disclose future orientated solutions. On an international scale mechanical engineering ranks amongst the most important branches of industry and initiates technical innovation. The introduction of the Bachelor’s program Mechatronics with Major Mechanical Engineering creates an innovative course which meets the expectations of economy and science and fulfills the highest international requirements. As well as conveying scientific-technical qualifications the course emphasises on economic, legal and social-communicative skills (Social skills, foreign languages etc.) Motivated lecturers from the fields of economy, science and consulting, the international focus of the course and the limited number of study places, guarantee excellent study conditions with attractive prospects for the future. The Bachelor’s program can be complete in full-time form and in part-time form. It is a crucial component of an all-out technical offensive, which is being realized in close co-operation with Tyrol, the city of Innsbruck, the domestic economy as well as the universities and secondary schools, thus synergetically supplementing the existing courses offered. |
