The further education market is in a process of change, and we are observing a growing tend towards individualization, investment in one’s personal market value and short, demand-oriented programs on a modular basis. To cater for this trend, we are extending our range of further education programs in the 2009/2010 academic year to include a number of innovative, one-semester Compact courses designed to support decision-makers at all management levels in handling the challenges of professional life and shaping their personal development. In terms of content, the courses – some of them taught in collaboration with leading external partners – relate to specific subjects that are of current relevance in the business world and can be addressed in twelve to fifteen days of teaching: Brand Management, Systemic Management, Sales Management, Logistics & Business Process Management, Labor Law, Tax Law, etc. These Compact courses offer an additional bonus in that their modular structure makes students eligible for credits towards our internationally recognized master study programs leading to MBA, MSc and (forthcoming) LL.M. degrees. Teaching is based on the tried and tested approach of our Classic courses. Students are encouraged to reflect and apply the theoretical course contents to their individual professional duties – in the form of group work, project work and final papers. Continuous feedback from the teachers support the learning and application process, and implementation in the students’ own organizations in the long term. In today’s business community, further education is not only important for your next step up the career ladder but also for sustainable personal development and effective positioning. |
